  • 2019 Georgia Milestones Testing

    Our 2019 Georgia Milestones testing window is just around the corner for our 3rd through 5th-grade students. We will begin testing on Tuesday, April 16, and our final make-up day will be Tuesday, April 30. Our 3rd and 4th-grade students will be testing in the areas of ELA (3 days) and Math (2 days), and our 5th-grade will test in those areas and have an additional day each for Science and Social Studies. A parent brochure discussing testing went home with report cards on 3/19. There is a link to it below. If you have any further questions about Georgia Milestones testing, feel free to check with your child's teacher.

  • Free/Reduced Lunch Forms

    Free and Reduced Meal Applications are now available online for the 2018-19 school year. To apply, visit www.lunchapplication.com. Only one application per household should be submitted. If you need assistance or would like to request a paper application, please contact your child's cafeteria manager.

  • Annual Asbestos Management Plan

    The Whitfield County School System AHERA Management Plan is available for public inspection upon request at the Whitfield County Board of Education. This notification is provided to fulfill the requirement of Section 763.93(4) of the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act, 40 CFR Part 763, October 30, 1987. All interested parents, teachers, empoyees or other persons are invited to review the plan, which includes the following items:

    1. Location, amounts and types of asbestos containing materials
    2. Response actions to the asbestos containing materials
    3. Plans for inspection and periodic surveillance
    4. Public Notification procedures

    Anyone interested in reviewing this plan should call the Whitfield County Board of Education at (706) 217-6780.

  • Cohutta Annual School Report Card

    In Georgia, the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement (GOSA) prepares Georgia’s State, Local, and School Annual Report Cards. The Annual Report Cards contain test results as well as other information relevant to school performance toward the goals of student achievement and school completion. The Report Card is in compliance with both state and federal laws with respect to reporting requirements. GOSA partners with the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) to produce the K-12 Public Schools Reports since much of the data comes from GaDOE.

  • Parent and Family Engagement Policy Meeting

    Whitfield County Schools will provide a meeting for parents and community members to share input on the WCS Parent and Family Engagement Policy for the 2019-20 school year. Two opportunities for input are scheduled on Tuesday, May 21 at 9:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. at the Whitfield County Central Office. The purpose of the meeting is to review this year’s Parent and Family Engagement Policy and for parents and community members to provide input to revise the 2019-2020 Policy.   • 8th Annual Book Blast Literacy Celebration

    Save the date! The 8th Annual Book Blast Literacy Celebration will take place Saturday, June 1 at Stage 123 and Burr Park in Downtown Dalton from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This FREE event will have reading circles with story book characters, literacy games, crafts, door prizes, information booths and more! EVERY CHILD RECEIVES A BOOK!
