The tennis program at Northwest has seen great success in recent years. Each year, for the past four years, the program has sent both boys and girls teams to the state playoffs. The tennis staff is excited about the direction of the program and the participation of students here at Northwest High this upcoming year. The program is open to all students meeting the Georgia High School requirements. The tennis season begins in January and ends in May. The Boys' varsity and JV programs consist of 7 players with 3 alternates. The alternates play exhibition matches during the season and have the chance to break into the starting line-up. The breakdown of each team is # 1 singles, #2 singles, #3 singles, # 1 doubles, and #2 doubles. Matches are determined by best 2 out of 3 sets. The Northwest tennis program follows the GHSA and USTA guidelines for rules and procedures.
The head coach is Steven Smith. Assisted by Katie Sanders, Anthony Flowers, and Jordan Wells.
