In an effort to keep students safe, minimize quarantines and keep schools open, students and staff will be required to wear masks when social distancing is not possible. Parents, if you prefer that your child not wear a mask, you may contact your child’s school to opt out or download and complete the Mask Opt-Out form linked on this page. Please keep in mind that if a student who tests positive for COVID-19 was wearing a mask while at school, any exposed students who were also wearing a mask will not have to quarantine as long as they remain asymptomatic.
Whitfield County Schools monitors COVID-19 data daily and evaluates the effectiveness of our district guidelines weekly. Guidelines are subject to change should COVID-19 cases in the school or community increase. Principals may, at their discretion, implement other restrictions based on unique needs of the individual school.
