  • College Board Announces 2017 AP Scholars

    The College Board recently named 44 students as AP Scholars in Whitfield County Schools. With the AP Scholar Awards, the AP Program recognizes high school students who have demonstrated outstanding college-level achievement through their performance on AP Exams.

  • SHS Student Ambassadors Meet Secretary of State

    A group from Southeast High School traveled to a kickoff event for the Student Ambassador Program hosted by Georgia Secretary of State Brian P. Kemp. Kemp launched the Student Ambassador Program in January 2016 to provide Georgia's high school students an opportunity to engage as leaders within their schools and communities. The program, designed for 10th-12th grade students, helps them gain leadership experience by engaging in Georgia civics, encouraging voter registration among their peers, and volunteering within their communities.

    Your child’s first years in school can set the tone for the rest of their academic career, so it is important to make sure they are prepared socially, emotionally, intellectually and physically to enter kindergarten. In Georgia, the GKIDS Readiness Check has been developed as an approach to thoughtfully measure the entry-level readiness skills of kindergarteners.
