Public School Choice
Quick Links
Georgia law allows parents to request a transfer of enrollment to another public school within their local school district if that school has available seats.
The district will accept transfer requests for the 2025-2026 school year from March 3 to March 14, 2025. To request a transfer, you may download the Public Schools Choice form here, or pick up a copy at Whitfield County Schools' District Office, located at 3264 Cleveland Highway, Dalton, GA 30721.
The completed Public Schools Choice form must be mailed or hand delivered to Chris Parker, Chief Officer of Student Services, at 3264 Cleveland Highway, Dalton, GA 30721. Requests must be submitted by 3:00 pm on March 14. If there are more requests than seats available, the lottery system will be used to select students. If your child is going from elementary to middle or from middle to high and is out of zone, you will need to re-apply at this time.
Available Seats
WCS will accept applications for a waiting list for closed grades in case there is a change.
