Public School Choice
Georgia law allows parents to request a transfer of enrollment to another public school within their local school district if that school has available seats.
Whitfield County Schools will accept transfer requests for the 2026-2027 school year from March 2 to March 13, 2026. To request a transfer, please complete the Public Schools Choice application, linked below. Requests must be submitted by 3:30 p.m. on Friday, March 13. If there are more requests than seats available, the lottery system will be used to select students. If your child is going from elementary to middle or from middle to high and is out of zone, you will need to re-apply at this time.
