New Hope Middle School

Arrival & Departure Procedures

  • STUDENT ARRIVAL

Parents dropping off students in the morning should enter the campus using the access road between New Hope Elementary and New Hope Middle School (between the baseball field and elementary school) and drop students off at the awning covered walkway after 7:00 a.m. Please do not use the middle driveway in the mornings due to bus safety and flow of traffic issues.  Car riders will remain in the cafeteria until 6th and 7th grade students are dismissed to wait in the gym at 7:40 a.m. Breakfast will be offered to all students. All students should be in class by 7:55. Students arriving after 8:00 will be counted tardy to school. Students should be dropped off at the car rider area until 7:55, after that time students should be dropped in the front and sign in at the front desk. Please do not drive your car into the bus unloading area or handicap transportation area unless obtaining prior approval to do so, as it presents a safety issue in our bus zones.

Staff members are not on duty to supervise children before 7:00 a.m. Students should never be dropped off at NHMS before that time. If you have a special situation, please call the school to get assistance with transportation.

    STUDENT RELEASE

Bus riders are dismissed at 3:30 p.m.  As soon as the bus riders are loaded onto buses, car-riders will be dismissed. All parents picking up children at school should arrive and get in the car-rider line no later than 3:35 p.m. unless the child is involved in an after-school activity supervised by a staff member. Female students will be picked up at the awning and male students will be picked up beside the gym. If you are picking up a male student, please go to the left of the island. Please follow the directions of the faculty member on duty.

New Hope Middle does not provide after school care. It is therefore not appropriate for students to be left at school after 4:00 p.m. Students should absolutely NOT be left to wait at school for parents for non-emergency situations.
