College prep and honor courses are provided in the core subject areas of Math, English Language Arts, Science and Social Studies. A number of Advanced Placement(AP) courses are offered in several subject areas. APcourses culminate with an AP exam with the potential to earn college credit. Northwest also offers a Dual Enrollment option for students that may be completed on our campus, at Dalton State College, or at Georgia Northwestern Technical College .
Electives include a variety of courses in foreign languages, physical education, fine arts and Career, Technical and Agricultural Education. Pathways are offered in all elective areas with the exception of physical education.
What is a Pathway? Students who earn a passing grade in three consecutive courses within the same discipline have successfully completed a pathway.
