  • GEMA Certificate for Emergency Plan Learning environments must be safe and secure before student achievement can begin to take place. In keeping with the vision and mission of the Whitfield County Board of Education, Whitfield County Schools is committed to proactive prevention of and preparation for response to emergencies of all types. The Whitfield County School System constantly collaborates with local, state, and federal public safety, health, emergency management, and other education agencies to help ensure that our safety plans are continually refined based on current best practices.

    School safety is a responsibility belonging to each of us. Never assume someone else has already reported information regarding school safety. If you know something, say something.

    Educators in Whitfield County Schools (WCS) provide a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and guests. We work closely with with our partners in law enforcement and emergency management to ensure our students and staff know how to respond appropriately during an emergency.
