Mrs. Lezlie Harris
Hello, Cohutta! I am Lezlie Harris, the new principal. I feel truly blessed to be returning to Cohutta Elementary. I am so excited to be working again with a staff that truly cares about the students, works daily to create a warm and welcoming learning environment and builds relationships with our families.
Since I have been away for a few years, let me introduce myself. I am a mother of four grown children, two boys and two girls. All of them graduated from Northwest High School. I have taught 2nd grade, 3rd grade, 5th grade, Advanced Content Math, and ALPHA for grades 1st through 5th. I left Cohutta four years ago to become an administrator.
As a parent, I valued the partnership between the school and me. As an educator, I still value that partnership. At Cohutta, we believe that parents play an important role in the education of their children.
The Cohutta community also has a long history of partnering with the school. On behalf of the students and teachers, I want to thank the Cohutta community and ask them to continue their support.
Whether you are a parent or a community partner, please know that you can contact me with any questions, suggestions or concerns.

Mrs. Sharene Ledford
It is with great excitement that I introduce myself as the Assistant Principal of Cohutta Elementary School. My family and I are honored to be part of this school and community. I am honored to be able to share this experience alongside such wonderful children, parents, teachers, and staff.
As a former student of Whitfield County Schools, I have also spent my educational career in Whitfield County. During my career in education, I have served as a classroom teacher, a K-5 Instructional Coach, and a Title 1 Coordinator.
Together we will work hard to continue the legacy of success established at Cohutta Elementary by building strong relationships with parents, students, staff and community partners.
During the course of the year, it is my hope that we will work together to provide our students with the best opportunities to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. As your Assistant Principal, my door is always open, and I welcome your concerns, questions, and input. I look forward to a promising school year and I can’t wait to meet each one of you!
