On behalf of the staff at Cohutta Elementary, I'd like to express how excited we are to be charged with educating your children. Cohutta is a wonderful school, and I know how much effort our staff members put into building relationships with our students and their families in order to help our students grow academically.

I am very excited to continue my journey as principal here. I began here as a teacher in 1999, and it's been amazing to see the school and community evolve through the years. I'm proud to say all three of my students began their school careers here as kindergarten students, and the staff members here helped lay a firm academic foundation that serves them well each day. I know this holds true for all of our students because the staff members here treat our students as if they are their own and those relationships make all the difference.

Know that our doors are always open to parents and community members, and we welcome your thoughts, questions, and feedback. We know that by working together we can continue to keep Cohutta a place where amazing happens!

Mrs. Sharene Ledford

It is with great excitement that I introduce myself as the Assistant Principal of Cohutta Elementary School. My family and I are honored to be part of this school and community. I am honored to be able to share this experience alongside such wonderful children, parents, teachers, and staff.

As a former student of Whitfield County Schools, I have also spent my educational career in Whitfield County. During my career in education, I have served as a classroom teacher, a K-5 Instructional Coach, and a Title 1 Coordinator.

Together we will work hard to continue the legacy of success established at Cohutta Elementary by building strong relationships with parents, students, staff and community partners.

During the course of the year, it is my hope that we will work together to provide our students with the best opportunities to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. As your Assistant Principal, my door is always open, and I welcome your concerns, questions, and input. I look forward to a promising school year and I can’t wait to meet each one of you!
