In order to encourage access to and community support of school extracurricular activities, the Golden Pass Program is designed to allow senior citizens and Whitfield County Schools' retirees to attend most school-sponsored events hosted on Whitfield County Schools' campuses, free of charge.

Senior citizens age 65 and older residing in Whitfield County (including city residents) and all retirees of Whitfield County Schools who are receiving Teachers Retirement System of Georgia or the Public School Employee Retirement System benefits are eligible to receive a Golden Pass.

A Golden Pass provides the cardholder with free admission to most school-sponsored activities including athletic events, chorus and band performances, and drama presentations. Exceptions include events governed by the Georgia High School Association, such as tournament play and spring musicals.
To receive your Golden Pass, please visit Whitfield County Schools' District Office (3264 Cleveland Highway, Dalton, GA 30721) on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. For verification purposes, a state-issued identification showing the applicant's date of birth and address will be required at the time the Golden Pass is created.  Golden Passes are issued free of charge and are valid for the life of the pass holder. A $5.00 fee will be charged to replace lost passes.
