Changes to Virtual Learning

CHANGES TO VIRTUAL LEARNING

With the majority of Whitfield County students returning for in-person instruction by October 29, our teachers will no longer be able to provide virtual instruction for students who are learning from home. However, all Whitfield County schools will still provide a virtual option for families.

Beginning November 2, all WCS virtual students will begin learning through online programs outsourced by the district. Schools will send instructions for accessing the programs to families by the end of October. This will not be a change for our high school students, who are already working on the Edgenuity platform.

Virtual students will access their academic classes through these programs, and they will be assigned to a Whitfield County employee who will monitor work in the program, check progress, and assist with answering questions during designated times of the school day.

If you feel this option is not right for your child, you may choose to bring your child back to school or contact the enrollment office at (706) 876-3955 for information on Georgia Virtual School or to enroll in the Home School Program.
