  • Makeup Day is Friday, March 30

    Students and staff will make up a day lost to winter weather on Friday, March 30, which will be a regular school day. The day was reserved as an inclement weather makeup day in the district calendar.

  • What is ACCESS for ELLs 2.0?

    ACCESS for ELLs 2.0 is an English language proficiency assessment for Grades K–12. The test is administered every year to help school districts monitor the English language development of students identified as English language learners.

  • Getting Ready for Winter Weather

    From time to time, we remind families about how we respond appropriately to bad weather. Part of that plan depends on our families (and staff) to keep their contact details up-to-date. When inclement weather affects the operation of schools and buses in Whitfield County Schools, we update the district website first.   • Public Notice – Destruction of Special Education Records

    In compliance with the Georgia Records Act, the Whitfield County School District’s records retention schedule, and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) regulations on destruction of data collected, maintained or used in the provision of a free and appropriate public education of students with disabilities in the District’s schools, the Special Education Department announces its intention to destroy special education records as indicated below after the following date: February 5, 2018.

  • Georgia Parent Survey

    We encourage all parents to complete the Georgia Parent Survey, which is available in English or Spanish from Wednesday, Nov. 1 until Friday, March 29. The survey is modeled after the student survey and contains only 24 questions. It should only require five to 10 minutes for parents to complete the survey using a computer, smartphone, or tablet. Families without internet access should contact their school about completing the Georgia Parent Survey at the school.

  • Three Whitfield County Schools Earn Greatest Gains Award

    Beaverdale Elementary, Cedar Ridge Elementary, and North Whitfield Middle School are among the 226 Georgia public schools honored today, an increase of 8 schools statewide over last year.
